Nicolas and I are delighted to welcome you here.

We do apologize for not publishing the entire content of this blog in English. However, we will do our best to provide you with information in English, on a regular basis, so please check the blog from time to time.

We received many warm requests for a diary like this one, going further than the book itself, and revealing a few things that you may be happy to discover. About Nicolas, about photographs, about the book itself, about past and future major instants related to this unique adventure, and any other information that might be useful, interesting or merely entertaining.

« NICOLAS LE RICHE » has been launched on the 2^nd of October 2008 in all major bookshops in France, UK, Italy and US. This book is probably nothing less than a photographic journey with Nicolas Le Riche, Principal Dancer at the Opéra de Paris, and full artist in many ways… Six years spent drawing a sincere portrait, it’s a lot of time, and it’s almost nothing… How much time do you need to reach some kind of truth ? to explore the complexity of an outstanding human being ? to give shape to all kinds of thrills ?

Serendipity. I love this word. The best one to describe our friendship. A word to be cherished. About encounters, experiences, and discoveries.

Creating this book together has been an awesome experience. Once in a lifetime. « There will be only one book, because there is only one truth » says Nicolas. We have been sharing time, laughs, melancholy and emotions for almost 6 years now. This tight connivance proves to be nothing but rare, as much as the book in its approach, concept, and design.

The dedication of our publishers resulted in a top-range quality in printing – a piece of dream for anybody who loves images -, the possibility for us to choose the photographs and create this book according to our vision (2 sides: « Nicolas », from inside, made of intense and secret moments, and « Le Riche », from outside, presenting the artist on stage in its major roles with all the violent tenderness that belongs to him, as his admirers perfectly know), and the choice of « almost no text » since the story is widely told in the numerous images - more than 400 photographs are gathered in the 352 pages of the book -. All this let us full of joy, holding in our hands an object that finally embodies the accurate reflection of what we’ve been sharing together, on the one hand, and on the other hand what we hope to be a singular vision of an artist’s life.

May you be touched, amused, confused and thrilled in many ways with this book and this blog, we merely hope that you will have as much pleasure reading and watching all this material, as we had, and still have, doing it.

You will find here a set of various pages and information, ranging from precious anecdotes to events happening in the next weeks or months, all this coming along with unreleased photos, videos, and of course happy games and questions, when you will be able to win special gifts :

- The book in its tiny version (« le livre minuscule »), a unique limited edition of 707 very Small Books, all numbered from 1 to 707. These books cannot be bought and will be only distributed at the discretion of the Artist and the Author, including on this blog as a special reward for some winners of contests,

- Pictures of Nicolas Le Riche, signed by the Artist,

- Only ONE ultimate version of the book, called the « Coffret Version Collectionneur » / “Collector Version”. Presented in a black fabric case, this version is made of one book signed by Nicolas, coming with 2 state of the art 30x40cm prints, numbered and signed,

We do believe that an unshared emotion is not worth it, and therefore we contemplate this diary as an open conversation. Please feel free to react in any way according to your mood and feelings ! I have no doubts that the journey with you two will be a great pleasure ! I'm already thrilled. I bought this book, it is an extraoridnary object, about an extraordinary artist, by an extraordinary photographer. I do have many photography books, but very few can compete with the overall outstanding quality of "Nicolas LE RICHE". I will tell you more in French, but I want to thank you, Mr Le Riche, for letting us enter your universe with so much opening in mind. You certainly are a very open minded person, and so is Anne Deniau, which is already obvious on this blog. Good luck to you two in all your future projects, and thank you again.
